Following My Dream

NOV 28 WRITTEN BY ROBERT MILLER

When I was growing up music was my passion. It was my dream to become a rock star. But in my early 20s that dream faded as I gave up music entirely for 15 years. Why? Because life got in the way, as it does for so many of us. Marriage, kids, job, obligations. I needed to make a living and support my family. But I was miserable that I had given up pursuit of my music dream. Finally, in my 40s I managed to carve out some time for music, although it was still more like a hobby. It was only after I turned 60 that I decided it was now or never for me to follow my dream and give music my best shot. So I gave up everything else, and figuratively jumped into the deep end of the pool.

It was the best decision that I ever made.

Here I am a decade later and, as a musician, I’ve recorded 11 highly regarded albums including one that reached #1 on Billboard. I’ve written over 100 songs, had millions of video views and streams, and performed at festivals and concerts around the world.

Ironically, the pandemic spurred me further. The pandemic caused me - and many others - to pause and reflect on our lives and what we still wanted to accomplish. This propelled me into an even higher creative gear. Since 2020 I’ve released two solo albums, written an Amazon #1 Bestseller, started the Top Ranked “Follow Your Dream” Podcast, released two “live” albums, and completed a new, still unreleased, “studio” album.

I’m making up for all that “lost time” in the middle years of my life. More important, I’m doing what gives me the greatest pleasure. And I’m finally following my dream. You can do it too.
