Mark Farner is a true Rock Star. He was the driving force behind Grand Funk Railroad, one of the greatest bands of all time. Mark talks about his early years growing up in Flynt, Michigan, and then the rise and outrageous success of GFR. We also do a Songfest in the second half of the show where we play and talk about several of GFR's greatest hits.

Grand Funk Railroad was one of the premier bands of the 1970s. Mark Farner was the lead vocalist, guitarist and central focus of the band. They sold over 30 million records and had two #1 hits. Hailing from Flynt, Michigan, Mark tells the story of how the band formed and their rise to stardom.

In the second half of the show Mark and I do a Songfest featuring three of GFR’s most famous songs: “I’m You Captain (Closer To Home)”, “We’re An American Band”, and “The Loco-Motion”.
