Matt Axton is an Americana and Roots singer-songwriter who comes from an illustrious musical family. His father was Hoyt Axton, who wrote some of the biggest hits of the 1960’s/70s including “Joy To The World” and “Never Been To Spain” for Three Dog Night, “The No No Song” for Ringo, and “The Pusher” for Steppenwolf. His mother Donna was the pianist in his dad’s band and is a professor of music. And Matt’s grandmother, Mae Boren Axton, co-wrote “Heartbreak Hotel”, Elvis’s first million selling single.
