Kenny Anderson On Life’s Ups And Downs

NOV 16 WRITTEN BY ROBERT MILLER

Kenny Anderson is a former All-Star professional basketball player. He was the #1 national prospect both in high school and in college, and he was chosen as the #2 player in the draft by the New Jersey Nets of the National Basketball Association. Kenny had great success in basketball but did not always find the same successes in his personal life. Life is more complicated than basketball.

When I interviewed Kenny on the Follow Your Dream podcast he said basketball is easy, it’s life that’s hard. I think this is a feeling that many of us can relate to.  Life is hard! Kenny is someone who has experienced great highs and great lows in his life. Most of us do as well.

Keep in mind that fame is fleeting. As time passes fewer and fewer people will remember you or your accomplishments. I bet if you saw a list of the most famous people of the 1920s - just 100 years ago - you would be hard-pressed to recognize most of them.

We can’t escape from the ups and downs of life. The goal is to navigate them. Try not to get too high from the ups, and try not to let yourself get too low from the downs. It’s all about the ride.
