The Importance Of Being On Time And Prepared

As a young boy I learned the Boy Scouts’ motto: Be Prepared. A great life lesson - no truer words were ever spoken. In every endeavor in life the difference between being prepared and not being prepared is the difference between success and failure. It’s the same in music.

As the leader of Project Grand Slam I tell all the musicians who work with me that there are only two rules I insist upon: show up on time and be prepared. You would be surprised perhaps to learn how many musicians are unable to do this. I’ve fired several great musicians who couldn’t follow my two simple rules.

What’s true in music is true in life. Show up on time and prepared and you’ll never go wrong.
