Nathan East - Eric Clapton, Daft Punk, Kenny Loggins

Episode Summary

Nathan East is another Monster of the bass. Eric Clapton, Daft Punk, Barry White, Kenny Loggins, Fourplay are only a few of the artists that he's recorded and toured with. Nate and Robert discuss his storied career and do a Songfest featuring a number of favorite and famous songs that Nate has played on.

Episode Notes

Robert calls Nathan East the “Lou Gehrig” of bassists because Gehrig set the record in baseball playing in over 2000 consecutive games, and Nathan East has set the record in music by playing in over 2000 recording sessions.

Robert’s featured song in this episode is “I’m So Glad”, Robert’s reimagined version of the iconic Cream hit recorded live by Project Grand Slam on the band’s 2019 album Greetings From Serbia. Robert chose this song because Eric Clapton of course was in Cream, and Nate is Eric Clapton’s bassist. And also to honor Jack Bruce, bassist in Cream, and Robert’s major early influence on bass.

Robert’s celebrated band, Project Grand Slam, will be performing a Benefit Concert at Shakespeare & Company in Lenox, MA in the Berkshire Hills on August 17th at 8:30pm. For more information and tickets click HERE

Robert’s “Follow Your Dream Handbook”, a combination memoir and how-to, telling his personal story and giving readers step-by-step instructions how to follow and succeed at their dream, will be released on August 26th. The Handbook has already been endorsed by many people. Look for it on Amazon and wherever books are sold!
